Major Award

I received a nice award at work today. It was a small honor. Part of the award included the presentation of a traveling bocce ball trophy. What's really funny is that this trophy was presented to our company years ago by developers who sponsored a gameday and now it's given away monthly to employees within the company to recognize an unrelated award. It's a trophy. It represents an accomplishment. I guess it can serve its purpose irregardless of what action the shiny figure atop the hardware is performing. Still, it makes me smile to see the thing sitting on my desk. It's quirky and I like that.

Sort of reminds me of the movie A Christmas Story and the "major award" that's won but which isn't quite what's expected.
